The month of February is National Snack Food Month. On top of
chocolate gifts and candy hearts given for Valentine’s Day, the entire month is
dedicated to celebrating snack food. Some specific foods with their days of
celebration are carrot cake, Nutella, frozen yogurt, molasses bars, bagels,
brownies, peppermint patties, and more. These ‘celebrations’ pose a unique
challenge for those learning how to stop eating sugar.
While not all snack foods must contain unhealthy amounts of
